Psiwares are apps used to relieve the pressure of the brutal and oppressive reality under the Consortium, the totalitarian Estate that came to dominate Transeurásia after Earth was devastated by the Nuclear Holocaust during the Third World War. To balance the individual's mental health living underground, the only place where one can survive away from the deadly radiation from the surface, psiwares leave their users in a catatonic, almost vegetative state, connected to the Parallel, a virtual territory created by the artificial intelligence iSys. Some opportunists take advantage of this kind of situation to extract organs or bioware devices from their victims. Most of these apps are illegal and their dealers are considered criminals and hunted by the regime.
