Back in 1996, I recorded everything through a tascam 4 track, used as a mixer, onto cheap tapes. I made about 5 tracks each day. Some of these ended up on Bunker Records, some on KK, and these 9 ended up on Starfish Pool's label Silver. Heavy duty, distorted beyond recognition and floating on heaps of tape hiss, these are electro before I heard and learned what it was supposed to sound like. Everything was recorded live to tape, sometimes errors are still in there and buttons are pushed at the wrong moment. Hey, thats how this used to work back in the day.

I cant believe this stuff is 26 years old, but it says so on discogs, so you better believe it. Fueled by coffee and cheap bread, I would usually record until late at night, unless one of the neighbours came to stop me. Never mixed on headphones, always on the same speakers I still use in my studio today. I think most of this is my Alesis HR-16b, a korg poly800, an ms-20 and a phonic delay that cost me 30 bucks. I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane...
