Rotterdam's 303 wizard MYSTIC DWARF aka singer for punk band Gewoon Raggen - Wes Roffa - has been dropping acid improvisations on instagram for a while now. Usually you can see and hear him start from scratch, building a track as he goes along and adding layers to the frame. On EVE'S RIB, his first EP for New York Haunted, you can hear him build tracks in real time. Blunted acid with steady riddims and squelchy bass with weird modulations and unexpected twists and turns.

It's really nice and refreshing to see his sessions and his unpretentious approach to making music. Of course that resonates with us as well, since a bunch of the NYH fam also has a history in punk and metal bands. EVE's RIB is a breath of fresh air between so many bland techno tracks. It's a reminder to enjoy yourself when making music, and remember why you started making music in the first place!
