D9FF09, besides being a lime-esque, neon yellow green hybrid, is also one of my fav producers out there atm. Consistently dropping his minimal acid variations in my mailbox for some time now, yet always surprising me by taking a slightly different route. This new EP, titled POLT! is smudgy and warm, as if the tape this was recorded to has been smeared in baking grease. Too hot to handle.

It's hard to imagine so minimal a synth like the TB303 filling so much space in the audio spectrum, but in D9FF09's world it's as big as a whale, stomping all over things like detail and nuance. It's hard, but more smudge than grating and warm, not overcooked. Jeez am I running a cooking show here? Check it out.
