Joseph Guislain (Ghent, 2 February 1797 – Ghent, 1 April 1860) was a Belgian physician and a pioneer in psychiatry. He was one of the first that started treating psychiatric illness with a humanistic approach, instead of just locking up what one doesn't understand. He was also one of the first to start treating patients with pharmaceuticals we would now describe as 'recreational'. Which brings us to this killer EP by Belgian underground icon AETHER of the Dance Mechanik crew.

If this release had dropped on Warp and had been labelled 'old, lost demos of Plastikman', nobody would question it. There was a time (1993 to be exact), that Plastikman was actually pretty cool. His 'Sheet One' is a classic in the genre. Again - why am I taking this detour? Because this EP has the same depth, lush hypnotic acid lines and deep pulsating rhythms as that one, without sounding like a copy. This is one of the best bits of acid I've heard in a long time and I'm elated to share this with you right now, check it out, turn it up, and cop out.
