Brooklynite and NYH alumnus Ben R. Brown is back with a great release for the home team. This is exactly the sort of stuff I would expect from a current sci-fi movie. Not that it's blade runner-esque (first or second) or overtly autechre-esque, but his work has such a cinematic quality, that it's hard not imagine the slums of the world in 2030 while listening to these tracks. Distinctly lo-fi, but heavy on the feels, and rhythms that sound pushy and totalitarian.

Ben is bringing his A-game to the field when it comes to synths and melodies and does not hold back on the fried sound, the bubbles, the muffled kicks and snares and the relentless way in which these jams build up to peaks and abrupt changes and stops. This is the perfect soundtrack for the future, and at the same time the perfect soundtrack for a confusing night at a busy, warm, dark, small underground club while you are not feeling quite like yourself and had a few to many pints. Hi quality escapist techno!
