Jealous People call their own music 'Trance Ballads', which is not that far of the mark if you think about it. In a sense these cuts are closer to the heyday of vaporwave, but without the sturdy and sludgy rhythms. The synths are pretty much that classic vanguard sound, but in a degraded and weird grainy universe. The rhythms are all out of wack, like a drum machine that's being fed the wrong voltage. Slightly distorted and some naive, proto techno sounds in there as well, that combine perfectly with the wavey, woozy, verby vocals.

I imagine these songs could be pop music in an alternate universe, where every hope of hi-fi has been abandoned, and everything gets distributed on wax scrolls. This could also have be Mark E Smith's one man synthpop band from an alternate reality, or Soft Cell on Tiesto's gear with a roadie on vocals or a no wave band rehearsal from 1983 where all the band members are drunk. Anyway: perfect, hazy, deep and poppy at the same time, I give you: Jealous People!
