Making his NYH debut, HARSH R is Avi Roig of Olympia, WA. Avi grew up listening to industrial music, never properly understood techno until he was in his 30s, and played in punk bands all the while and in-between. And it shows. If you like your electronics rusty and industrial sounding with hints of punk and screamo sprinkled on top, you came to the right place.

After his last band dissolved on NYE 2017, Avi began HARSH R as a repository for all of the riffs he deemed too ignorant for general use; the music has regrettably evolved quite a lot since then, but the spirit remains. It reminds me a bit of Big Black and, more current, Uniform. Some heartfelt stuff that has the power to level a major city... This truly is some real powerful and amazing music.
