about

Saturday night used to be alright for fighting, but the worst time to release a new record. Well.. ever since corona all the dj's are at home and let's be honest, none of em would have the balls to play this record anyway. East London Electronics aka Colin Ledwith surprised us with a really great, really hardcore, yet balanced EP of heavy duty experimental electronics. While opening cut 'Nine' fries your speakers with layers of stacked kicks, it's follow up Osira cools everything down with lush harmonics that easy your frontal lobe.

That back and forth between harder noise outbursts and slowed down ambient is something that happens throughout ELE's tracks. As if he wants you to know he can push the pedal down all the way, but chooses NOT to. Restraint as a sign of civilisation. This all comes together perfectly on the track 'Redirect', where you can feel the cold ambient air starting to freeze and you are waiting for that slab of noise to fall. It's full of perfectly calculated tension and also happens to be one of the best things we've heard in a long time... It's time to keep a close eye on East London folks..
