Atte Elias Kantonen is a Helsinki, Finland based sound designer and composer working with different conceptual works. He uses a modular synthesizer system as his main instrument, but we won't hold that against him. For now...

For his NYH debut 'Pairs', the tracks consist of two sets of improvisations on the subject of raw materials. The characteristics and elasticities of analog sound give birth to processes that render excitations of imaginary materia. First pair of the works pump bursts of impacts and the second pair revolve around tension and release.

This is abstract music with a rubbery, organic feel that gives you the impression of being inside a material. Like molecules being twisted and turned, like atoms being spliced and re-organized. Great and heavy sound design from someone who really knows what he's doing. Step into the world of Atte Elias Kantonen!
